A.D. Williams Fall Planting

Derek led the Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy in their first full planting in the garden beds we built. The garden consists of nine 4′x8′ raised beds and herb planters which were made possible through the generous support of Park Pride’s Growing Great Gardens Community Challenge. The girls learned how to pair different veggies in the same bed and how to space them appropriately. They planted delicious goodies like broccoli, red cabbage, dill, rosemary, lavender, tomatoes, cucumbers, and basil alongside previously planted pumpkins, summer squash, and green beans. Yum… We cannot wait to hear about what these girls cook up with it all.
